My love for dogs really started when I was working on a cattle ranch in New Mexico. I had always grown up with dogs, but my true obsession began when I witnessed my first working Red Heeler in action. It was incredible to see a 40-pound dog fearlessly chase after a large and angry mother cow – that moment had me hooked. From then on training dogs is all I ever thought about. Pet dogs to start then on to working dogs.

I started training with my own working Cattle Dogs, but I wanted to expand my horizons in the world of working dogs. So, I joined K9 Search and Rescue when I moved to Alabama. I fell in love with Search and Rescue right away, and that passion eventually led me to try my hand at detection work. I am an active Search and Rescue K9 Handler. My K9 Nika and I hold a NASAR (National Association of Search and Rescue) certifications for Live Find Area Search.
