Experienced Puppy Training That Builds Foundations for Life
Your puppy’s early months are filled with curiosity, discovery, and boundless energy.
Alongside group classes, we offer private puppy lessons at your home, our Huntsville facility, or an appropriate public setting after evaluation. We tailor the setting and plan to your puppy’s goals, from housetraining and nipping to leash introductions and confidence.
Private one-on-one puppy obedience follows our basic obedience package and starts at $1,000.
We teach young puppies through rewards, play, clear communication, and practice at home. We do not use corrections with young puppies. The goal is confidence and everyday manners you can keep building as your puppy matures.
Every dog needs an evaluation before training. We observe your dog’s temperament and how your dog interacts with you and the trainer, then discuss your goals and recommend a program.
Group-class evaluations are free. Private-training evaluations cost $30 at our Huntsville facility or $50 in your home. The private evaluation fee is separate from the program price and is not deducted from it. Rick schedules evaluations personally.

Why Early Puppy Training Matters

Some puppies can begin training as early as eight weeks; others are ready later. We consider maturity, breed, drive, and individual needs before recommending a start. Our eight-week Puppy Fundamentals Group Class, six-week AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class, and six-session Working Puppy Training Program offer different paths. We work with families in Huntsville and nearby Madison, Harvest, Meridianville, Hampton Cove, Owens Cross Roads, and Athens.
A Positive, Play-Based Approach
Puppy training starts with rewards, play and clear communication. We teach you to mark the behavior you want and reward it at the right moment, then practice those skills at home. Young puppies learn without corrections.

Puppy Fundamentals Group Class
Puppy Fundamentals group obedience — $375 for eight sessions. We work on early manners, clear communication and the habits you’ll practice at home.
Our Fundamental Puppy Courses provide essential training for a lifelong bond. This course focuses on obedience, socialization, and building a well-behaved and joyful canine companion.

Working Puppy Training Program
Our Working Puppy Class is designed for dogs with career paths, focusing on essential skills for service, therapy, and other roles. Join us to nurture a skilled and reliable working partner.

AKC STAR Puppy Class
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy — $275 for six sessions. We follow the AKC program, covering socialization, early manners, handling, grooming and practice around distractions. Puppies and owners who meet the requirements and pass the test can apply for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title. AKC requires an eligible AKC, PAL or Canine Partners number for the official title; a certificate-only option is also available.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy has both certificate-only and official-title options. Puppies and owners must meet the program requirements and pass the test. For the official title, AKC also requires an eligible AKC, PAL or Canine Partners number and a title application.
